Lisa is the owner of and primary therapist at Bennett Counselling Services.

Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, specializing in Psychology from York University. She then completed her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Lisa is a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Lisa has been helping people with mental health issues for over 7 years in both Canadian mental health agencies and private psychotherapy practice.

Lisa works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her experience includes working with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, phobias, abuse and trauma, grief & loss, post-traumatic stress, chronic pain, and issues of anger management, addictions & substance abuse, stress management, relationship conflict and abuse, and parenting & step-parenting.

Lisa believes that each person’s journey in counselling is unique and uses an integrated approach to best assist individuals, couples, and families in reaching their goals for counselling. Lisa’s theoretical and clinical training is primarily in Mindfulness Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Lisa uses a collaborative approach in counselling to foster a trusting, supportive, and empowering environment for her clients.
